The vandalism appears to have happened in two different locations, on Valmont Street near a Tim Horton’s and near the Rive Nord Mall.

“If I had that on my windshield, I wouldn’t be able to sleep,” said a nearby resident.

“I’d be very scared.”

Others, like Dan Tremblay, are not too worried.

“I think it could be considered hate speech by some, but it’s all in how you take it as an individual,” he told Global News.

Kathy Malas from the @CNDMuslimForum is worried there will be backlash against the #muslim community in #Repentigny.

The cars targeted in the attack had threatening stickers on them featuring a man armed with a gun and an ISIS flag along with the words “Quebec is Allah’s land” and “convert or else.”

Members of the Muslim community condemned the act and even thought it was quite suspicious.

“When I saw the pictures I was quite surprised by just the graphic, two different contradictory images on the same sticker,” said Kathy Malas vice-president of the Canadian Muslim Forum.

Malas worries about the impact these acts might have on the community.

“It doesn’t convey a good message to Muslims, especially in the neighbourhood,” she said.

“It will backlash on the Muslim community.”

Witnesses told police they saw four people leaving one of the lots wearing burqas.
